Battered and bruised, four of SmackDown’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match combatants regrouped to lock horns in tag team action. But, when things spun out of control, Matt Hardy accidently connected with his partner, Christian. As Captain Charisma fell out of the ring, the confusion allowed Drew McIntyre to hit a devastating boot to the face on Hardy for the win.

While CM Punk hasn’t completely convinced his Rookie, Darren Young, to drop his South Beach party boy habits and convert to the Straight Edge lifestyle, he has guided him to victory more than once. On WWE NXT this week, Young earned a tag team victory when he pinned Pro Matt Hardy after Punk hit him with the Go To Sleep when the official wasn't watching. With the Straight Edge Superstar on his side, Young has been unstoppable, and has increased his record to 2-1. But will Young change his life and join the Straight Edge Society? That may not happen this week, as after Young’s win, he was attacked by SES member Luke Gallows, who hit the Gallows Pole on Young, as well as Hardy and his Rookie, Justin Gabriel, as a sign of solidarity as Punk and Serena smugly looked on. As for Gabriel, his once-perfect record dropped to 2-1.

For the second week in a row, The Second City Saint converted a member of the WWE Universe to the Straightedge Society, shaving his new recruit’s head as a symbol of his transformation from his “past transgressions” into a new way of life. In the process, Punk pledged that he would continue his Straightedge quest by winning the Royal Rumble Match as the first step toward the salvation of society.

CM Punk & Luke Gallows went on to triumph over three other tag teams, winning the right to face Unified Tag Team Champions D-Generation X for the titles. Though JTG went for the pin on The Straightedge Superstar, he hadn’t noticed that Punk’s “Detoxified Disciple” had tagged himself in. Gallows made short work of the unsuspecting Superstar, hitting him with the Gallows Pole for the monumental victory.

In his SmackDown debut, Vickie Guerrero’s boyfriend, Eric Escobar, stunned both Matt Hardy and the WWE Universe by picking up the “W.” Distracted by a screaming Vickie at ringside, Matt was driven into the steel ring post by Escobar. Reeling from the collision, Hardy was easy prey for Escobar to cover for the pinfall.

-- It's also worth noting that the Twitter account of Beth Britt, Jeff Hardy's fiance, is still active, all the content has been removed. It appears they have shut the accounts down due to the attention stemming from Hardy's arrest.

-- There were rumors over the weekend that Matt Hardy had been sent home by WWE management. After speaking with a source within WWE, we can confirm those rumors are false. Matt was backstage at Tuesday's SmackDown tapings from Hamnilton, Ontario but was not used on television.

Punk then burst upon the scene, declaring that he only wants one thing this Sunday: To make The Deadman tap out for all the WWE Universe to see.

In the main event, “the only Straightedge Champion in WWE history” made a tremendous statement about his upcoming match with The Deadman, forcing Matt Hardy to tap out to his excruciating Anaconda Vise. Although Punk held the gold high above his head, darkness soon overcame his triumph. And when illumination was restored, Undertaker was standing at the top of the ramp, clutching Punk’s World Title in his mighty hands.

I'm late on posting this, so I'll just post the latest update. Most people already know about this anyways.

The Charlotte Observer is reporting that local law enforcement raided Jeff Hardy's Cameron home at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning after receiving information developed by the Fayetteville Police Department.

The newspaper says Hardy was at home with "his wife" when the raid took place. Presumably, she is his fiancee Beth. She was not arrested.

Chief Deputy Neil Godfrey of the Moore County Sheriff's Office said the case remains under investigation and further charges are possible. He declined to say whether the additional charges could be against Hardy or others.

He added it's too early to determine whether the drugs found in Hardy's home were for personal use or distribution to others.

The article also noted that opium trafficking, which is one of the charges Hardy faces, carries a mandatory prison sentence of three to fourteen years, even for first-time offenders.

Following his SummerSlam triumph, a gloating CM Punk returned to SmackDown as the "only Straightedge Champion in WWE History." When The Charismatic Enigma interrupted his celebration, promising to end Punk’s reign in their steel cage rematch, Punk proposed the loser be thrown out of WWE. As the shocked WWE Universe stood witness, Hardy accepted the huge gamble. SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long arrived to set the stipulation in stone. He then dropped a bombshell, stating that at the brand new pay-per-view WWE Breaking Point, where every main event will be a submission match, the winner of the steel cage clash would face Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Later that night, after years of incredible feats of reckless abandon, fate finally caught up with Jeff Hardy in a moment of tragic irony. After blocking the high-flying specialist’s climb to victory, the World Heavyweight Champion superplexed him from high atop of the cage. Hardy battled back heroically, trying to prevent his adversary from getting over the cage with every fiber of his being. But a thumb to the eye by Punk sealed his fate, allowing The Straightedge Superstar to retain his title while simultaneously vanquishing the amazing Jeff Hardy from the WWE ring. After last week’s eye-popping chain of events while teaming with World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk (last week’s results), Jeff Hardy emerged wearing an eye patch. He soon ripped it off, declaring that his eye injury is just as serious as The Straightedge Superstar’s.

Punk emerged just when Hardy was gaining a strong advantage in his hard-fought battle with Kane. The distraction gave The Big Red Machine enough time to recover and chokeslam The Charismatic No. 1 Contender off the top rope for the huge victory.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk vs. The Great Khali (No contest).
Jeff Hardy later joined Hall of Famer Jim Ross & Todd Grisham at the broadcast table as Punk prepared to face The Punjabi Playboy. Punk produced an eye drop prescription and mocked Hardy’s past troubles. The growing animosity between Punk and Hardy threatens to reach a fever-pitch as they prepare to face off at Night of Champions in a World Championship Match in two weeks.

In the culmination of an explosive match, Khali hit Punk with the devastating Punjabi Plunge. But before he could get the three-count however, Kane emerged with a steel chair. A “clash of the titans” ensued when Ranjin Singh evened the odds, supplying Khali with a chair of his own. Kane struck first, but the fury of Khali kept him on his feet. He then nailed Kane with the chair, causing The Big Red Machine to uncharacteristically retreat for the second week in a row.

Matt Hardy successfully underwent surgery on July 2 to repair a serious tear in his abdominal muscles. He will be out of action for 8 to 10 weeks, according to The Sun.

Matt Hardy wrote more about his July 2 abdominal surgery in a WWE Universe blog. "I want to sincerely thank the WWE and everyone who had a hand in blazing my path back to being a 100 percent healthy Matt Hardy," Hardy wrote. Everyone at the WWE has been great to me in helping and supporting me through this tough procedure. I also want to thank Dr. Pappas and Duke Medical Center for doing an awesome job of putting my abdomen back together again."

Jeff Hardy is beyond frustrated at how his year has gone.

At The Bash, the high-flying Superstar had World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk right where he wanted with an apparent pinfall. However, after closer inspection by the referee, it was determined Punk’s foot was under the bottom rope and out of bounds. After the action was restarted, Punk kicked the referee in the back, resulting in a disqualification. In one fell swoop Punk dropped the ref and crushed Hardy's hopes of getting gold.

At Extreme Rules, Jeff Hardy was triumphant over Edge in a career-threatening World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match. But then, in the blink of an eye, it was all over when Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Hardy.

At Judgment Day, Jeff Hardy was betrayed by his own flesh and blood, Matt Hardy, who helped World Heavyweight Champion Edge steal a win.

And if you go all the way back to January at Royal Rumble, that is when Jeff’s troubles began. Shocking the WWE Universe, Matt showed his true colors, violently smashing his brother in the head with a steel chair, costing him his WWE Championship.

How much more can Hardy take? At Night of Champions, can he finally turn things around?

Not if CM Punk has anything to say about it.

After waiting for just the right moment to cash in his Money in the Bank contract, the champion has proven he will do whatever it takes to retain his gold, including kicking a referee in the back at The Bash – a move which Punk still maintains was an accident. Certainly, Punk will not go down without a fight.

At The Bash, the fateful roads of squared-circle passion and championship retribution will collide, as World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk puts his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Jeff Hardy.

Extreme Rules saw Jeff Hardy prove triumphant over Edge in a career-threatening World Heavyweight Championship Ladder Match that propelled both Superstars to heights of grueling insanity, the likes of which neither one had ever experienced before. It was time for celebration, as The Charismatic Enigma had finally overcome all that had stood in his way to stand alone in the glorious splendor of WWE supremacy.

But then, in the blink of an eye, it was all over. Suddenly and without warning, CM Punk brought Hardy hurling back to earth, cashing in his Money in the Bank opportunity on the war-torn Superstar to rip the gold from his waist as quickly as it had been placed there.

Raw Results For 6.1.09.

Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Matt Hardy & William Regal.
Though their contest on Raw was a non-title match, if Matt Hardy & William Regal had managed to defeat Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo, they would have earned themselves a title match on the following Raw. The two devious Superstars had received the opportunity on account of the assistance they had rendered to Raw General Manager Vickie Guerrero in recent weeks. Unfortunately for Hardy & Regal, however, they’ll have to keep waiting to grasp that championship gold, since the Puerto Rican brothers were able to secure victory after Hardy inadvertently clobbered his teammate with his cast.

Santino Marella vs. Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero ended in a no contest.
In a rare intergender singles match, Santino Marella faced off against his twin sister “Santina’s” Extreme Rules opponent, Miss WrestleMania Vickie Guerrero. Though the Raw General Manager was initially reluctant to face the Italian Superstar, she was convinced by Matt Hardy and William Regal that their plan would pay off in spades. After Vickie came to the ring with two buckets of slop (a reference to her and Santina’s impending Hog Pen Match), Santino retrieved one and began to threaten the GM with it. Meanwhile, William Regal and Matt Hardy rushed to Vickie’s aid, storming the ring with ill intentions. But as they crept up behind the Italian Superstar, Santino whirled around, dousing Regal in the slop. Enraged, the two devious Superstars attacked Santino, giving Vickie an opportunity to cover him with the contents of the second slop bucket.

“The Cutting Edge”; World Heavyweight Champion Edge def. Intercontinental Champion Rey Mysterio.

Surrounded by an Extremely dangerous array of metal rungs, World Heavyweight Champion Edge presented “The Cutting Edge” with his Extreme Rules challenger Jeff Hardy as his special guest. Staring each other down from on top of dueling ladders high above the ring, both Superstars predicted victory, in what promises to be one of the greatest Extreme matches of all time. But amidst the excitement, The Ultimate Opportunist locked in on his chance to strike, hitting Hardy with the hanging World Heavyweight Championship before thrusting his ladder ruthlessly downward, sending The Charismatic No. 1 Contender crashing to the floor.

Later that evening, the World Heavyweight Champion took on the Intercontinental Champion for the first time ever on SmackDown, as Edge faced off with Rey Mysterio in a Champion vs. Champion Match. In the end, despite the fact that Mysterio was able to hit the lethal 619, Edge miraculously avoided his fatal follow-up, allowing him to drill his masked opponent with a devastating spear for the victory. But, when The Master Manipulator tried to use the ladder on Mysterio after the bell, Jeff Hardy charged to the rescue. After disarming Edge with the help of his trusty chair, Hardy hit Edge with a jaw dropping leg drop off the top of the ladder. Could this be a sign of things to come at Extreme Rules this Sunday?

Teddy Long comes out and announces that Edge will take on Jeff Hardy in a rematch at Extreme Rules. Jeff Hardythen comes out to the ring. He asks the crowd want to see that match tonight.

It's then announced that Jeff will take on Edge tonight and the winner will pick the stipulation for their match at Extreme Rules.

Todd Grisham then asks Hardy what the stipulation at Extreme Rules will be & he says it will be a "Ladder Match."

SmackDown starts with Teddy Long introducing Rey Mysterio. He talks about being home on SmackDown. He calls Jeff Hardy the better man and invites anyone to challenge him for the Intercontinental Championship. Chris Jericho comes out. He calls himself the face of SmackDown and boasts about his accomplishments. He calls the fans and wrestlers disrespectful. Jericho goes on to say that Teddy Long is a "fly by night" General Manager. He demands a title match against Mysterio. Rey tells him to shut up and pushes Jericho to the ground. Rey exits the ring. Jeff Hardy enters and says Jericho has to beat him to get a title match. If Chris Jericho wins it will be a Triple Threat Match at Judgment Day. Teddy says it's official and Jericho leaves.

Josh Matthews conducts a backstage interview with Jeff Hardy. He asks Hardy about his match with Chris Jericho. Jeff calls Jericho a distraction and says everyone will see him win the title.

As you all should know by now, I demanded to be released from ECW by General Manager Theodore Long last week. I had decided to jump to Smackdown to deal with my issues with Jeff Hardy. In an idiotic decision, Theodore Long granted me my request. Although I wanted out, I honestly couldn't believe he let me go they easy. I thought I was gonna have to put up a fight to get out of my ECW contract. But no, I was allowed to leave the brand at the mere mention of "I want my contractual release."

This incident reinforces how bad of a G.M. Teddy Long is. I was the ECW Heavyweight Champion for nearly 5 months and I carried his company on my back. I was undoubtedly the greatest WWE ECW Champion there has been. I made the Sci-Fi program of ECW a must-see event if I was on it. The show will be severely damaged without my presence. Teddy Long made a terrible business decision-no if, ands, or buts about it. Teddy Long may have actually made a good personal decision though. If he had reservations about granting me my release, he may have found a "Black Cloud" over his life. Maybe he learned from Jeff Hardy's mistakes.

I led several of Theodore Long's ECW roster members to the best matches of their careers. Mark Henry, John Morrison, The Miz, Evan Bourne, Fit Finlay, and Jack Swagger all had one common denominator in their best ever ECW performances-Matt Hardy. I made all these guys into bigger stars than they were before wrestling me. That's what I do, I make people stars. I get more out of human beings than they've ever known their capable of. I've done it my entire career. I've done it with Jeff Hardy, Lita, Shannon Moore, Joey Abs, Joey Mercury, Shane Helms, and even Edge. Edge didn't become the superstar he is today until I created the "Rated R Superstar"-through our personal issues. Whether you want to accept it or not, it is the absolute truth-I am "The Starmaker" Matt Hardy.

I will be on the February 6th episode of Friday Night Smackdown. I understand that "Hurricane" Helms will voice his opinion on my situation with Jeff Hardy on Smackdown. I'll be watching and listening close Shane. I predict your comments will predict your immediate forecast for the future.

Matt Hardy opened up Smackdown discussing what he did at the Royal Rumble. Matt stated that he knew everyone was waiting for Jeff, but he wasn't there, he was at home. He stated that he was done living in Jeff's shadow. He stated that it's funny that when Jeff became champion, all of these accidents occurred. He said that people might blame him, but you can't prove it. He stated he was tired of everything Jeff put him through; covering for him & worried for him. He said that when he hit Jeff would with the chair, it was the end of it. He said that if Jeff's destruction meant his survival, then so be it; & he couldn't be happier or healthier. He said for years he's tried to get the fans to like him, but all they cared about was his self-destructive brother. The Jeff Hardy interview aired. It was just he and JR in front of a gray curtain. JR played the video of the accident again. JR said he was surprised Jeff requested this interview as he had said nothing since he left the hospital. Jeff said he respected JR and that's why he asked for the interview. He said he knew that he had not had any accidents. The pyro, the car, the attack at the hotel, were all planned and he knew who it was. He said that person had crossed a line from which there was no return.

He addressed the camera directly and cut a promo on Edge. He said that it was obvious that Edge was responsible for everything that had happened. He said he pitied Edge. He went on and on about how he just goes and does and whatever without being a conformist. He asked Edge if he had heard the saying, "There's nothing to fear but fear itself?" He said, "Edge, I'm not afraid. Are you?"...

Matt Hardy told Todd Grisham that in his opinion, Jeff Hardy’s pyrotechnics accident on last Friday Night’s SmackDown “was no accident". Jack then came out & made a comment about Matt at the expense of Jeff's injury. Matt then knocked Jack out of the ring with a one punch & attacked him outside of the ring. As officials struggled to restrain Hardy, Swagger delivered a quick shot in return before retreating with the title.

WWE Champion Jeff Hardy has been riding a wave of success since claiming the gold at Armageddon, and at Royal Rumble, Hardy faces a dangerous foe in former champion Edge – who is focused on taking back what he believes belongs to him.

The history between these two Superstars is well documented, and with the title on the line, Hardy can be sure that the Rated-R Superstar will do anything he can to reclaim the biggest prize in WWE. With General Manager Vickie Guerrero naming her husband Edge the No. 1 contender, the deck is stacked against Jeff Hardy, but that is when the current WWE Champion has been at his best.

As Edge tries to reclaim the gold, and, with the mystery surrounding the attack on Jeff Hardy the night before Survivor Series, many fingers have been pointing toward Edge, making this match extremely personal.

Edge comes out & cuts a promo stating that Jeff Hardy is an embarrassment as WWE Champion. He then says after the Royal Rumble, he will be WWE Champion. Edge says he gets blamed for everything but when Jeff loses, blame him. This then leads to a match - Matt & Jeff Hardy vs. Big Show & Edge.

SmackDown starts off with the new WWE Champion Jeff Hardy being introduced. He comes out to a huge pop with a spectacular pyro and confetti. He talks about finally being champion. Edge comes out to interrupt. He tells Jeff it takes more than just a day or two to be a true champion and that he stole the title from him. Edge then says Vickie has announced two matches for tonight: Matt Hardy vs. Edge and Jeff Hardy vs. Vladimir Kozlov.

Jeff then asks Edge if he's done and hits Twist of Fate.

* Matt Hardy cuts a promo backstage before his match with Edge. He's receiving a huge pop from the live audience.

* Edge b. Matt Hardy
- Hardy comes out to a huge pop while Edge comes out to big heat. Edge gets the clean win after hitting Hardy with a spear.

* WWE Champion Jeff Hardy b. Vladimir Kozlov - Hardy gets the win after Edge interferes. Kozlov and Edge double team Hardy until Triple H comes to the rescue. Kozlov runs away when Hunter gets his the sledge hammer. This concludes SmackDown.

As SmackDown opens, Triple H is in the ring as if he is about to have a match, but eff Hardy attacks him from behind. They fight on the outside, as the referees pull them apart. Vickie & Chavo Guerrero also come out to the ringside area.

Later, Matt Hardy is a guest on Edge's "Cutting Edge". They go back & forth on who caused Jeff Hardy to miss the WWE Championship match at Survivor Series. Edge says it was Triple H but Matt blames Edge for the attack. Vladimir Kozlov then comes out, ending the segment.

Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy. Winner: DQ when Edge comes out & spears both Triple H & Jeff Hardy.
Both men are laid out in the ring as Edge walks to the back with his WWE Championship, taking Smackdown off the air.

At Armageddon, newly-crowned WWE Champion Edge will defend his gold in a Triple Threat Match against Jeff Hardy and Triple H.

As a result of the events in the Beat the Clock Challenge on SmackDown – as first reported on WWE Mobile on AT&T – SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero conferred with WWE management and ruled that both Superstars are entitled to the opportunity against the Rated-R Superstar.

After taking the extreme road to earn his Survivor Series Triple Threat opportunity – overcoming first Undertaker and then Triple H – Jeff Hardy was robbed of his chance after being found unconscious in the stairwell of his Boston hotel.

The Ultimate Opportunist stunned the WWE Universe by returning at Survivor Series and taking Hardy’s vacant spot to capture the WWE Championship, pinning The Game amidst a whirlwind of chaos. Now that he has secured his favorite spot on top of SmackDown, Edge will do whatever it takes to stay there.

The Charismatic Enigma rebounded from his misfortune, scoring a huge victory over The Brian Kendrick in a Beat the Clock Challenge Match on SmackDown. However, Triple H refused to be denied. The King of Kings answered back later that night by conquering United States Champion Shelton Benjamin in exactly the same amount of time, opening the door for the three-way battle.

The irrepressible, extreme nature of Jeff Hardy and the insurmountable hunger of The Game are sure to come pounding on the door of the Ultimate Opportunist. The showdown between these three volatile Superstars is likely to come to an explosive end.

Vladimir Kozlov has been taught an important lesson as of late: If you mess with one Hardy, you have to deal with both of them.

The Moscow Mauler has been doing everything in his power to secure the WWE Championship. Although unsuccessful, he has proved that he can brawl with the best of them, including Jeff Hardy. That is, until he lost a Beat the Clock Match on the Nov. 28 edition of SmackDown against Jeff’s brother, Matt, who fought tirelessly for his flesh and blood to make sure Kozlov did not earn a chance to fight for the gold at Armageddon.

Since then, the Superstar who has never been pinned has been looking to take down ECW Champion Matt Hardy, not out of a hunger for gold, but out of a thirst for vengeance.

Matt Hardy & Tiffany presented the award for Exteme Moment of The Year. The winner was Jeff Hardy for his Swanton Bomb onto Randy Orton.

Jeff accepted the award, stating that it started with a trampoline in the back yard, & then hyping up his match for Sunday. He stated whether he walked out, was carried out, or was taken out on a stretcher, he was leaving Armageddon as the WWE champion. He then made his way down to the ring for his upcoming match.

Winner: Chris Jericho.

John Cena vs. Edge.
Winner: No contest when Chris Jericho came back out. Triple H & Jeff Hardy also came out for Edge. As Chris & John fought their way through the audience, Triple H, Jeff Hardy, & Edge went at it. Leaving Edge up the ramp, Jeff in the aisle, & Triple H in the ring, all staring at each other.
